Fun and Friends! Rituals and Relaxation! Dancing and Dining!

The event includes a reception, dinner, color guard presentation, a march-in, traditional Military Toasts, a P.O.W. table, inspiring speech, prizes, a dance, and more.

Our distinguished guest speaker is Texas Land Commissioner Jerry Patterson. He served his country as a U.S. Marine for over twenty years and our state as a State Senator for six. A graduate of Texas A&M, he volunteered for Viet Nam in 1972 and was stationed there until the "cease-fire." He became a Naval Flight Officer and served in Marine fighter squadrons until his retirement in 1993 from the Marine Corps Reserve as a Lieutenant Colonel. Read his personal biography

The P.O.W. table will be a tribute to the memory and patriotism of the late Ron G. Bliss, a former P.O.W./USAFA grad’64. He flew 35 missions over Viet Nam before being shot down in his 105 Thunderchief. Bliss spent six-and-a-half years as a prisoner of war, mostly in the infamous "Hanoi Hilton." DJ and Music DJ Paul P. Olson from Sound Connections will return to provide music, after being such a hit from last year's military ball.

How you can help?

Please Donate: Can you donate a Military Ball prize? Or solicit donations? Or be a sponsor? By contributing, we can encourage these fine young men and women as they prepare to serve their country. And you can show them how Houston recognizes their dedication to their country.

To find out more, check with Sandy Carp/Solicitations Chair/SandyCarp@hotmail.com or with Carol Murphy/Cadet Prizes & Silent Auction Chair/fmurphy3@earthlink.net  We can readily forward a solicitation letter and information to you.

Please volunteer to help with the Military Ball Preparations

Volunteers are always wanted and appreciated! You are needed to make this a special evening for all the military school cadets and midshipmen. With the responsibility of the Joint Military Service Academies Ball falling to the USAFA parents this year, we want to make this fabulous beyond expectations. But it is possible only with you.

We need helping hands and great ideas during the year and on the day of the Military Ball. Please take a moment and see where you can make the difference. Contact the committee head of your choice.

Please note: The sooner you return your RSVP card, the better your table assignment will be! We assign tables based on when the reply cards are received. Don’t be disappointed! The Military Ball’s popularity has grown every year and we are expecting to reach capacity. We are limited by the hotel on how many guests can be accommodated. For tables seating 10 people, we are limited to 900 attendees. For tables with 12 seats, we are limited to 1080. We are aiming to keep the table seating at a comfortable 10 guests per table unless you request a table of 11 or 12 for your party. Please get your ticket request in early to ensure your attendance at this year's 20th Annual Joint Military Service Academies Ball!
